For a comfortable fit, the Melbourne Storm 2022 Mens Indigenous Jersey has a crew neck collar with a ribbed crew neck. It is 100% polyester and available in red, black and blue for youth and adults.
Melbourne Storm is proud that they have released the 2022 Indigenous jersey. It was designed by Coree Thorpe. Coree, a Yorta Yorta Gunnai Gunditjmara, Wurundjeri man, and artist who took the Rainbow Serpent as his inspiration. Coree, a long-standing Storm supporter, has strengthened his connection to Melbourne over the past few years through his Leadership and Community Development role with Dardi Munwurro (an indigenous organisation that has a long-standing partnership) The design of the 2022 Storm jersey connects all aspects of the Storm family. It represents players, coaches and staff across its features. Coree used the familiar tale of the Rainbow Serpent as a metaphor for Storm and the club's history in the NRL over its first 24 year. This tale is a strong link to Storm's recent journey along the east coast of Australia. It also serves as a symbol for how each season requires regeneration. The yellow and orange jersey lines are Storm's active years as a member of the NRL. The orange lines signify years when the club won a Grand Final. While the purple lines symbolize the ribs, which represent the people and players within the organisation. Each side of the artwork is adorned with diamonds, which symbolises the men and women that make up Melbourne Storm. Each year is different, just like the snake. It's the shedding and regaining of players, but the journey goes on. Coree explained that it is stronger, it learns it heals it and it changes. "To understand where you came from, you have to know where you are going," Storm said.
